Hi I’m Sarita
I often get the question, what does Sinchi Vida mean?
Sinchi is Quechua for “strong” and Vida is translated to “life” in both Spanish and Portuguese.
I consider Sinchi Vida the essence of me. I pour my heart and soul into everything I do. I’m strong and resilient.
Coming from a very mixed Peruvian-Brazilian household inspired me to bring parts of my culture and personality into my art. I’m here to share my art, which is Sinchi Vida.
Sinchi Vida isn’t just a blog about health and wellness. It’s a lifestyle, a community. Here we not only discuss health, we also discuss food, fashion, and new ideas.
This is a place to belong, a safe space for everyone interested in living well, living with style, and simply enjoying life.
FAQs
What Does Sinchi Vida Mean?
Sinchi means strong in Quechua, the indigenous language of the Incas of Peru. Vida means life, and whether translated into Portuguese or Spanish, the definition is the same. I like to pronounce Vida in Portuguese since Sinchi is connected to the Peruvian side of my heritage, I also wanted my Brazilian side to get some love and attention.
What is this blog really about?
It all depends on what you want it to be about. It’s about everything, my life, my culture, my religion. Sinchi Vida is for everyone to read and enjoy, no matter what your beliefs are, I just want to share my life and ideas with the world.
Why the Catholic Content?
Why not? Catholicism plays a huge role in Latinx culture, especially in South America. To not share the beauty of Catholic Culture would be a disservice to a lot of Latinx culture.
Have you lived in Brazil and Peru?
Yes of course! I spent most of my childhood in South America. I mainly lived in Brazil and went back and forth from the U.S.A. and Brazil until 2011. I briefly lived in Peru for about a month before moving back to the U.S.A. permanently. Though I now have spent most of my life in the United States, my heart belongs to Brazil and Peru.
