How to be the Ultimate Shoe Diva

I think we overlooked the shoe diva aesthetic way too soon. I’m obsessed with the shoe diva. She’s someone who exudes confidence and flair through her fashion and shoes! She’s a girlboss who loves to shop and travel. She’s cute, avant-garde, and eclectic. Yet somehow effortless and cool. Girls growing up were promised the girlhood of Shoe Diva, and I’m here to tell you that this era is back!

It’s time to bring back the connection of girlhood and the fabulousness of the shoe diva. Here are ways to emulate this aesthetic in your daily life.

Fashion

Unique Footwear!

First and foremost, this aesthetic gains its name because of shoes! If you want to emulate the shoe diva, the best way to show it is through your footwear. Don’t be afraid to break the mold of minimalist shoes and wear something experimental!

Coats Coats Coats

I can’t think of a time when the shoe diva doesn’t have a coat or a cute rain jacket. The Burberry Chelsea coat is the ultimate shoe diva coat! Once I manage to get myself one, I’ll know I’ve made it!

Big Umbrellas

Shoe divas are city girls, they’re always on the move, and rainy days don’t stop them! Big umbrellas are the best way to protect yourself from the rain, and with a fabulous design, you’ll turn heads everywhere you go!

Stripes and Polka Dots

I think a big part of the shoe diva’s inspiration comes from aesthetics like New York and Paris. In shoe diva art, you’ll always find her wearing some sort of polka dot or stripe. It may feel like the chiche French girl aesthetic, but I personally love it and I don’t care if the French write me off as an annoying tourist (sorry French people, I love you).

Blue Jeans are a Must Have

If not for the sake of having the best basic article of clothing in your wardrobe, a pair of skinny blue jeans is perfect for the Shoe Diva, mainly because they’ll show off your shoes! I know skinny jeans are not everyone’s cup of tea, but they’re so versatile and just work with everything I own!

Lifestyle

Frequent Brunch with Your Besties

Nothing beats girl time with your besties at a nice cafe discussing the plot of a TV show you’ve watched a million times or the state of our politics. Divas who dine together, stay together!

Lots of Self Care

A lot of shoe diva art had the divas modeled alone doing something in the leisure of their homes. They might be doing a face mask, laundry, or typing away on their laptops in their underwear. The concept of shoe diva is about self-love, and with that comes self-care. Remember to nurture yourself, and give yourself much-needed “me time” after hard work.

Embrace the Beauty of Female Friendships

The shoe diva values girlhood and female friendships; it’s not just about fashion and self-care. It’s about building bonds that will last a lifetime. The shoe diva isn’t “popular” per se, she’s real. What I mean by that is, the people who are in her circle are people who truly love her and value her. There are no frenemies in her world, only true and good friends. Sure, she might bicker with her girls every once in a while, but she still loves them and they’ll always have each other’s backs.

Hustle!

Let’s be real, if the shoe diva isn’t shopping, she’s working. I mean, how else is she supposed to afford her shoes? I think most of these girls work a fast-paced office job with a high salary, so they could be able to afford a studio apartment in the city. They probably work for Vogue or a fashion house. A working girl is a true shoe diva!

Embrace Independence!

There’s little art showing the shoe diva with a boyfriend; it’s not impossible, but it’s quite uncommon. You see, the shoe diva doesn’t need a boyfriend. Any man that’s in her life is there because she allowed him to be a part of a world she’s created that’s about embracing herself and her independence. True shoe divas love themselves enough to know that they are great both with or without a partner. They go to restaurants by themselves for dinner, they love Valentine’s Day, not because of love, but because all the cute clothes in stores have heart motifs. Being a true shoe diva means embracing your independence and loving yourself!

I hope you enjoyed this! It’s quite different from what I’m used to making. I loved creating this, and I hope you enjoyed reading it! Embrace your true self! Embrace the Shoe Diva within!
